    Hi Astrid,

    Thanks for reaching out!

The slice option is not able to cut a shape out of a full pattern piece. Instead, we can create the look of a hole by shaping it into the pattern from the edge.

Start by adding three close together corner points at the edge where you want to cut into the piece. Set all points to sharp or curved. Drag the center corner point into the pattern. Add additional points and handles to shape out the hole. Stitch the cut together so that only the hole is open. Turn off stitch construction on the cut edges. This is displayed in the image below. Let us know if you have any questions!

    Hi,

I tried to follow the step to do the same things, but it still didn't turn out like that, could you screenshot or take the video of the steps/how you do it?

    Thank you so much!

    Sherry,

it definitely worked for me just following the instructions, I attached a screenshot of a quick mock-up. You sort of need to add more than three points once you are in the fabric cut-out to get the shape you want, and you need to make the stitching points corner points.  What is it that you have issues with?

    best, Astrid

    Astrid,

Thank you for the clarification! I think I did it! But I have a question. If two lines I set to stitch together are far from each line, will the edge be wrinkle?

I attached the pic and circle the areas I am concerned about.

    Thank you,

    Sherry
