What's New and Improved in Lotta 2023.3.1
This release includes the following new and improved features:
- Symmetrical Styling
A new symmetrical styling mode was added to the Styling menu. This mode allows pinching a 3D garment on one side and seeing the same styling results on the symmetrical piece on the other side.
For further information, refer to 3D Styling.
- Transferring Avatar Measurements
Added the Import Avatar Measurements and Export Avatar Measurements buttons in the Edit Avatar pane, which allow transferring measurements between avatars in CSV format.
You can transfer measurements:
-
- From a CSV file to a parametric avatar
- From a non-parametric avatar to a parametric avatar with measuring tapes, in CSV format
- From old avatars (Deborah and Adam) to newer avatars (Olivia and Oliver)
- From older parametric avatar versions to newer versions
- Between ethnicities (from Olivia to Gabrielle or Lili)
For more information, see Transferring measurements between avatars.
- New Parametric Avatar Deformation Options
This version includes additional deformation options for the most realistic 3D version of fit models. For more information, see Editing New Parametric Avatars.

Toggle Edges Length Display in 2D
Added a button to allow toggling to show or hide all pattern edge length measurements. This option aligns with common display options found in other CAD systems. For further information see 2D Window Details.
- Set Corner Points as Grading Points by Default
All corner points generated by the users, either by creating a shape or adding a point, are defined as grade points by default. As a result of this change, the Grade point property was removed from the context view of points. For further information see Configuring Points as Grade Points.
- Parametric Lights - 3D Gizmo Improvements
To provide consistent and flexible 3D transformations for parametric lights, the Spot, Directional and Area lights will now use all the local transformation options. This means that the 3D gizmo will always be aligned with the object coordinates. Point light will use World transformation, which means that the 3D gizmo will always be aligned with the world coordinates. These changes support a smooth workflow and maintain the 3D transformation when changing the light type. For further information see Parametric Lights.
- Include Piece Names on Exported 3D Geometries for glTF and GLB
Pattern piece information is now included in glTF and GLB file formats when exporting 3D objects. For further information see Editing 3D Object Export Settings.
- Color Library Additions
Added the Polyester Color Library by Archroma.
- New Default PBR Mode for Exported glTF and GLB
Changed the default PBR mode for exported glTF and GLB to Metalness/Roughness instead of Specular/Glossiness to align with the most common and most expected PBR standards. Metalness/Roughness is a lighter weight export option and it produces less artefacts or unexpected display issues on web viewers.
What was fixed in Version 2023.3.1
- Internal lines did not appear in the 3D window when the "Show in 3D" button was toggled on.
- Pattern shape attributes and artwork handles appeared in the Tech Pack although these were not selected for inclusion prior to exporting.
- The 3D trim textures did not display in the 3D window when using OpenGL Engine.
- Unused pattern pieces in the 3D window appeared in manually saved snapshots.
- The fabric group "shell fabric+ AOP" did not appear in the same row when the Tech Pack was rendered for Excel and "Consolidate by material name" was selected for all colorways.
- An additional colorway appeared in the Multipack Render Preview.
- White specks appeared in fabric where the Fur property was applied.
- Incorrect stitch size is applied to smart zippers in sizes other than base size, resulting in an uneven simulation.
- After optimization, file size increased.
- Not all colorways were rendered when the “All colorways” option was selected.
- The 3D workspace did not display properly when opening some files.
- Color names appeared as RGB values and not as actual names when updated via API.
- In the Excel Tech Pack Annotations layout, rows were not scaled so that all information was immediately visible by default.
- The API MenuFunctionReloadAdd plugin was not working properly.
- The facial appearance of custom parametric avatars was distorted using OpenGL render engine.
What was removed in Version 2023.3.1
-
BWO viewer
As of this version, the BWO Viewer is no longer supported. To view garments in 3D on all platforms without installing an additional viewer, it is possible to generate animated GIF files or export glTF/GLB files instead. Animated GIF files can be sent as email attachments and glTF/GLB files can be loaded on web browsers.
