What's New and Improved in VStitcher 2024.2.1

  • ​​UI Improvements​​: The following UI improvements were implemented to improve usability, increase efficiency and enhance the overall user experience:
    • Improved contrast for buttons and dividers in the top navigation
    • ​Improved the quality of icons
    • ​Added List View to the Assests Library and allow changing thumbnail size (small, medium, large)
    • ​Improved consistency in the Animation Workspace; added Clips in the left navigation bar
    • ​Added Snapshots to the left navigation bar
  • Undo / Redo Stabilization and Optimization:​​ Stabilizing and optimizing the Undo/Redo functionality ensures a reliable and consistent user experience, leading to faster garment creation, reduced trial-and-error, and greater confidence in using the software.
  • Handles​​: This release includes various UI enhancements to improve working with handles, including adding the hover effect when viewing handles in 2D, using colors for easier recognition, increasing the size of the dot at the end of the handles, and exposing the handles when selecting a symmetrical line.   • ​​​Point Angles​​: Added the ability to display and edit angles between edges/handles. This makes angle adjustments more intuitive and precise. For more information, see Points Angle​​.
  • Split Internal lines​​: Users can now split an internal line into multiple segments making it easier to manage and edit the lines. For more information, see Split Internal Lines
  • Sizing and Grading - Align to Adjacent Edges: This version includes ​Left​ and ​Right​ buttons that can be used to align coordinates to the adjacent left or right edge, when using the ​Sizing and Grading​ tool. For more information, see ​Viewing the Sizes and Grading Pane​​.
  • ​Walk Pieces​​: The ​Walk Pieces​ tool provides pattern makers with the ability to easily inspect the accuracy of multiple pattern pieces and edit pieces using the ​Selection ​​and ​Fold ​​tools, while still in ​Walk Mode​​. The tool also includes the option to skip segments and save piece alignment. For more information, see Walk Pieces​​.
  • 2D Fold​​: Added a new 2D Fold tool that allows checking accuracy of pattern pieces using 2D transformation based on selection of edges, internal lines and points and by defining which pieces are folded. For more information, see 2D Fold​​.
  • VQS with Light Presets​​: Added the ability to share styles with the light setups imported to or created in VStitcher via the ​Share to Stylezone​ dialog box. For more information, see ​Visual Quality Standards Configuration​​.
  • Smart Design Improvements​​: Implemented various improvements to enhance the user experience and workflow by preventing data loss, ensuring accurate design representations, maintaining the integrity of design snapshots, and streamlining the adjustment process.
  • Export USD Format​​: This version supports exporting 3D content in USD format which improves VStitcher's alignment with industry standards. To find out more, see ​Importing, Exporting, and Opening Files.
  • Export Garment Details​​: Added the ability to export details (e.g. artwork, seams and 2D trims) as separate geometries with their own pixel resolutions to enable creating detailed content that can be easily manipulated in external systems.   • Schematic Render (Tech Pack)​​: Included industry-standard schematic render capabilities that can be adjusted to customize the render output. To find out more, see Editing Rendered Image Settings​​.

What's Fixed in VStitcher 2024.2

  • Smart Design Bug Fixes:​​
    • Smart Design Data Loss After Crashing
    • Related Edges Not Displaying Zipper in Smart Design
    • ​Snapshots Disappearing After Adding New Pattern Piece
    • ​"Match" Stitches Function Fails After Label Size Change
  • On Mac machines, the colors of Ai vector artwork in the 3D window appeared brighter in any light setting and didn’t match the image editor or the color in the Context window.

  • Unable to load Substance artwork material mode when using the BeProduct plugin.

  • Topstitching in the Stylezone 3D Object Viewer appeared enlarged when compared with VStitcher and detailed images.

  • Changes to brightness of Parametric Lights in the 3D and Render window. The brightness increased each time a render window was opened.
  • Transparent materials did not appear transparent when uploading a 3D object to Stylezone.
  • The system crashed when moving fabric texture positions on Mac machines.
  • DBAdmin was crashing when importing a DAT file both locally and via SQL server.
  • In some cases, when opening files exported to Stage from VStitcher, the garment had the wrong scale in Stage.
  • Transparent hair and eyelashes objects of imported avatars appeared distorted when using OpenGL render engine.

 

Download and Upgrade Versions Instructions

Upgrading to VStitcher 2024.2.1:

  • Download and install VStitcher from here.

  • Cloud License Users - send your upgrade request to support@browzwear.com. There is no need to send any files.
  • Dongle License Users - you must update your license dongle. Send your C2V to support@browzwear.com. For further information, refer to Retrieving a C2V File and Applying a V2C File.

  • If you need to renew your contract and are interested in version 2024.2.1 contact sales@browzwear.com.

File Versions

Lotta 2024.2.1 and VStitcher 2024.2.1 both support files created in earlier VStitcher and Lotta versions.

Earlier VStitcher and Lotta versions do not support version 2024.2.1 files.

With the release of Lotta 2024.2.1 and VStitcher 2024.2.1 the company's support now extends to the following versions of Lotta and VStitcher:

  • 2023.2
