Inserting a Shape

You can insert an ellipse, circle, rectangle, or square shape as an internal shape.

To insert a shape:

  1. On the Main toolbar, click Insert.

  2. On the Horizontal contextual menu, under Insert, click Drop-down. A menu is displayed.

  3. Do one of the following:

    Draw an ellipse:

     

    2021.2 and newer

    1. Click Ellipse.

    2. In the 2D window, click on a pattern piece where you want the shape to be. A dialog box is displayed.

    3. Click Click to unlink the Width and Height.

    4. In Width and Height, type in the values you want.

    5. Click Insert. The ellipse is displayed in the 2D window.

    2021.1 and older

    1. Click Ellipse.

    2. In the 2D window drag your mouse. The ellipse is displayed.

    Draw a circle:

     

    2021.2 and newer

    1. Click Ellipse.

    2. In the 2D window, click on a pattern piece where you want the shape to be. A dialog box is displayed.

    3. In Width or Height, type in the value you want. So long as these properties are linked as shown by Width and Height are linked, any value for one is automatically duplicated in the other.

    4. Click Insert. The circle is displayed in the 2D window.

    2021.1 and older

    1. Click Ellipse.

    2. In the 2D window, press Shift and drag your mouse. The circle is displayed.

    Draw a rectangle:

     

    2021.2 and newer

    1. Click Rectangle.

    2. In the 2D window, click on a pattern piece where you want the shape to be. A dialog box is displayed.

    3. Click Click to unlink the Width and Height.

    4. In Width and Height, type in the values you want.

    5. Click Insert. The rectangle is displayed in the 2D window.

    2021.1 and older

    1. Click Rectangle.

    2. In the 2D window, drag your mouse. The rectangle is displayed.

    Draw a square:

     

    2021.2 and newer

    1. Click Rectangle.

    2. In the 2D window, click on a pattern piece where you want the shape to be. A dialog box is displayed.

    3. In Width or Height, type in the value you want. So long as these properties are linked as shown by Width and Height are linked, any value for one is automatically duplicated in the other.

    4. Click Insert. The square is displayed in the 2D window.

    2021.1 and older

    1. Click Rectangle.

    2. In the 2D window, press Shift and drag your mouse. The square is displayed.

    You can also insert a shape on the garment in the 3D window.
