    SettingDescription

    Curve Type

The curve type of a point determines how a pattern piece edge or internal line moves through the point. For example, by default a corner point has a Sharp curve type.

    • Sharp: Both handles are deactivated at the point, resulting in a sharp corner intersection from both lines meeting at the point.

    • Curved: One or both handles at the point are active at the point but independent of each other. Lines meeting at the point may be curved or sharp depending on the handle orientation. Handles appear in red and blue if both handles are active but independent of each other.

    • Smooth: Both Handles at the point are active and connected. The line moves smoothly through the point.

    Handles

Click to toggle on and off the left and right handle for the point.

    Note:

    • If both are toggled on, both handles display

    • If both are toggled off, no handles display, and the curve type is automatically set to Sharp

    • If one handle is toggled off, only one handle displays and can be used

    • If one handle is toggled off, the curve type is automatically set to Curved
GlueDisplays only for an end point. Select to ensure the internal line stays right on the piece edge, even if the piece is altered.
