Creating a 3D Stitch Effect
You can create a 3D stitching effect using the available construction types.
To create a 3D stitch effect:

On the Main toolbar, click Select.

On the Horizontal contextual menu:

If creating an effect on an edge, ensure Pieces is selected.

If creating an effect on an internal line, ensure Internal is selected.

In the 2D window, click the edge or line where you want to create the stitch effect. Details are displayed in the Context view.

In the Context view, go to Stitch Construction.

Click . The available stitch construction types are displayed.
2023.2 and newer
You may use to copy the stitch construction, then select an edge on the garment and click paste to apply. -
Click the stitch construction type you want to use. The available configuration options are displayed.

Edit the options as required.
Option Description Depth
Sets the depth of the normal and displacement maps. The range is 0-1cm, the default being 0.1cm.
Direction
Only displays for Directional Seam.
Click to flip which side of the stitched edges displays as raised above the other.

Note that flipping the stitch construction direction has no effect on seam materials.
Wash Effect
By default this option is not selected. If selected, a wash effect is automatically applied to the stitch.
Puckering
By default this option is not selected. If selected, further options are displayed:

Depth - sets the depth of the normal and displacement maps for the puckering effect. The range is 0-1cm, the default being 0.1cm.

Width - sets the height of the puckering images, allowing for a larger or smaller puckering effect. The range is 0-20cm, the default being 1cm.
- 2023.2 and newer
Wash - sets the wash effect. The range is 0-1 , the default is 0.
