This feature allows you to communicate revisions, new designs, comments and so on, without changing the garment or the simulation. You add annotations to the garment in the 3D window.
Annotations are part of the file and can be included in the tech pack. For more information, refer to Tech Packs in Lotta.
Note
Annotations are connected to the camera view and colorway. If you change the camera view or colorway, the annotations no longer display.

Adding an Annotation
To add an annotation:

In the 3D window, ensure you have a completed simulation displaying.

On the Main toolbar, click Annotate.
The 3D annotations pane is displayed on the left of the screen.

Click . A text box is displayed.

Type in your annotation. When text is entered, an Add button is displayed.

After completing the annotation, click . A flag is displayed in the 3D window.

As required, use the tools displayed in the Horizontal contextual menu with your annotation.

If enabled, you can drag the annotation flag, brush, and vector annotation drawings in the 3D window to wherever you want to place them.
Brush
If enabled, you can draw with the brush tool in the 3D window as part of your annotation.
Vector
If enabled, you can draw with the pen tool in the 3D window as part of your annotation.
Draw Externally
Click to load the view in the 3D window to the external image editing software specified in the 3D Annotations tab of your preferences. (The view excludes any brush and pen marks made in Lotta.) You can then use that image editing software as you want. Once saved, the file is displayed in Lotta.
Note:

Draw Externally supports raster based image editing software such as Photoshop, SketchBook, and Paint.

Draw Externally displays a thumbnail icon of the external image software specified in the 3D Annotations tab of your preferences.

Save your file.
Displaying an Annotation in a Separate Window
You can display an annotation in a separate window.
To display the annotation in a separate window:

On the 3D annotations pane, click the annotation you want to display. At the right side, opposite the annotation name, icons are displayed.
Note
The icon for your external image editor is displayed only after an annotation was created using your external image editor. Clicking the icon is equivalent to clicking Draw Externally on the Horizontal contextual menu. For more information, refer to Draw Externally.

Click . The annotation is displayed in a separate window. To close the window, click X at the top right of the window.
Hiding an Annotation
You can hide an annotation so that it does not display in the 3D window. Note that the annotation flag does display.
To hide the annotation:

On the 3D annotations pane, click the annotation you want to hide. At the right side, opposite the annotation name, icons are displayed.
Note
The icon for your external image editor is displayed only after an annotation was created using your external image editor. Clicking the icon is equivalent to clicking Draw Externally on the Horizontal contextual menu. For more information, refer to Draw Externally.

Click . The annotation is hidden and the icon changes to . To display the annotation, click .
Tip
If you hide an annotation, go to another annotation, and then return to the original annotation, the original annotation is no longer hidden. An annotation can be hidden only when it is selected, and when it's unselected it reverts to shown.
Viewing Annotations
If there are annotations, you can view these in the 3D annotations pane and reply, edit, or delete as appropriate.
To display the pane:

In the 3D window, ensure you have a completed simulation displaying.

On the Main toolbar, click Annotate.
The 3D annotations pane is displayed on the left of the screen.

If there are multiple annotations, click one to select it.

Click Reply, Edit, or Delete, as appropriate. If you reply, this is added to the annotation.

Alternatively, on the Main menu, click Tools, then 3D Annotations to view the pane.

The flag position is not fixed. You can drag the flag to a new location.

Tip
To make the annotation more effective, you can use the pen or brush tool to draw in the 3D window.

If there are annotations, you can view these in the 3D annotations pane and reply, edit, or delete as appropriate.
