Ray Trace Render
-
If Ray Trace Render (Local - V-Ray) or Ray Trace Render (Remote - V-Ray) is selected, the Render Quality option is displayed.
You may select Low, Medium, High, or Best. The higher the quality, the better the render and the longer it takes to produce the render.
If Ray Trace Render (Local - Blender) or Ray Trace Render (Remote - Blender) is selected, the Render Quality (Cycles) option is displayed.
Type in the number of cycles to a maximum of 500. The higher the number, the higher the quality of the render, and the more time it takes.
A low number - for example, 10-50 - typically produces a grainy image in a short time. Such output is useful for testing the lighting and general previewing.
A higher number - for example 300-500 - typically produces a smoother image, but takes a longer time. Such output is useful for final production.
Schematic Render
Version 2024.4: This version allows customizing render parameters to provide more precise 2D presentations. You can adjust the following:
- Contour line color and thickness
- Internal line color, seamline thickness, and stitches scale
- Garment material color and shadows contrast
Under Garment Details, you can select the Artwork check box to include the artwork in the rendered file.
|
Include Avatar
|
Select to include the avatar in the render. If selected, the avatar is displayed in the 3D window. If cleared, the avatar is not displayed in the 3D window.
|
Outline
|
Select to add a black outline to the render.
Note: Only available with normal render type.
|
Background
|
Select the background type.
When rendering an image using ray trace rendering, the background options now available are:
-
Show Environment - Uses the HDRI lighting selected for the 3D window.
-
Solid Color - Adds a solid colored background:
-
A colored box is displayed to the right of the setting. Click the colored box.
A color picker is displayed.
-
Select the color you want for the background, and click OK. The background displays the selected color.
-
Transparent - Adds a transparent background.

Image Size - Print Size
|
Sets the size of the output.
For a normal or schematic render, a size of 5 inches by 5 inches and a DPI of 150 is a recommended starting point.
For a ray trace render test, an image size of 900 px is recommended. For a final ray trace, an image size of 1800 px is recommended.
-
Set the Image Size width and height if the render is for online use. Set the Print Size width and height if the render is for printed output.
Adjusting Image Size automatically adjusts Print Size, and the other way around.
-
By default, width and height are linked, so that adjusting one automatically proportionately adjusts the other.
- Click to unlink width and height
-
Instead of entering values, you can drag the frame of the 3D window to adjust the size.
-
Click to set the size to match the size of the preview displayed in the 3D window.
-
Select Auto Crop to auto crop the rendered image. The rendered image will include only the 3D object (avatar, style, artwork....), without the empty area that surrounds it (This option traces the 3D object borders).
-
Set a value for DPI (dots per inch) for the render.
Note: DPI affects the quality of the render. However, a ray trace render ignores this setting, its quality being determined by the number of cycles. For more information, refer to Ray Trace Render.
