Rendering in Lotta
In Lotta, you can create a render when you have the finished simulation of a garment. Rendering, also known as image synthesis, is the computer generation of an image from a 2D or 3D model. The results are called a render. You can use a render for line sheets, presentations, fitting sessions, merchandising, and e-commerce.
There are render types, and render outputs.
Render type: how the render is built.
Render output: how the render is available to view.
Render Types
The available render types are:
NormalThe default selection. A quickly drawn, quality image of the garment as previewed in the 3D window.
2022.1 and newer
The integration of the Unreal engine enables very fast ray trace rendering and an improved 3D display that displays high quality shadows and reflections in real time.

Use Nvidia graphics card with RTX support to enable top quality 3D display and ray trace rendering.

Ray TracePhoto realistic image of the garment. A high-quality ray trace rendering consumes considerable computing resources and uses a large amount of memory. The amount of time the rendering takes to complete depends on the amount of memory in the system and the level of detail required. Therefore, external cloud services are often used to generate ray trace renders.
SchematicA basic black and white image of the garment, similar to a technical sketch, useful for efficiently communicating design features.
Render Outputs
The available render outputs are:
ImageImages are 2D pictures of the simulated 3D garment. You can create a rendered image as normal, ray trace, or schematic.

TurntableA turntable is an interactive psuedo-3D rendering which combines a series of renderings from different angles. A turntable is useful for showing different angles of a simulated 3D garment outside VStitcher or Lotta. You can create a rendered turntable as normal or ray trace. A turntable is produced as an HTML file or animated GIF.

V-Ray Real-Time Ray Trace RenderingThe integrated V-Ray engine allows you to generate ray trace rendering simultaneously in the application, while you make adjustments to your garment.
