Trim objects are either:
-
Edge assignable - can only be assigned to an edge or line
-
Piece assignable - can only be assigned to a piece as an internal element
To add trim to a piece, edge, or line:
-
From the appropriate Trims section, drag the trim to the piece, edge, or line in the 2D window.
Note
If you assign trim to a line or edge, it automatically repeats along the length of the line or edge.
The following image shows 2D trim being added to a curved line.
Alternatively:
-
On the Main toolbar, click Assign.
-
In the Trims section, click the trim.
Note
Ensure you have selected the trim you want. You can check by viewing the Material in the Horizontal contextual menu.
-
On the Horizontal contextual menu, ensure Pieces is selected.
-
In the 2D window, the cursor changes when over a piece to confirm the application is in assign mode. Click on the piece, edge, or line you want to assign the trim to.
The trim is assigned to the piece.
Tip
You can also drag the trim to the piece, or assign the trim to the piece, in the 3D window.
