PBR Support
PBR (Physically-Based Rendering) is a modern technology which delivers more realistic real-time and ray-trace output.
Support for PBR is reflected in:
-
Improved output in the 3D window and when rendering.
-
An increase in the number of material maps, the details of which are shown in the Context view for each material type.
-
Addition of Browzwear PBR FBX format as an option when exporting 3D objects
The following image shows some of the channels and the effect of the different values for intensity.
-
Although there are a larger number of material maps, it is not necessary to use them all.
-
Specular and roughness maps use the gray level intensity of their respective map images.
-
Diffuse, subsurface, and normal maps use the colors of their respective map images.
-
In channels using an image and an intensity, the intensity value determines how much of the image is used in the output.
-
Adding a texture image automatically sets a channel’s intensity to 1.
