You can grade sizes manually and precisely, using the Sizes and Grading pane to configure the grade points.
Version 2024.1: This version includes the ability to select edges and generate formulas in the 2D Measure dialog box, while viewing the Adjacent Edges table. For further information, see 2D Measure.
Note
Before grading, ensure all the required sizes are available. For information about adding sizes, refer to Adding a Size. For information about deleting sizes, refer to Deleting a Size.
To grade sizes manually:
-
If it is not already open, open the Sizes and Grading pane.
-
In the 2D window, click a grade point. The current grading settings are displayed in the Sizes and Grading pane.
2023.2 and newer
You can make changes to the position of each grade point on the X axis, or the Y axis, or both, and make such changes incrementally from the base size grading point, or relative to the base size grading point.
-
Incremental
An incremental change from a grading point is a change made relative to the next size that is closer to the base size, or is the base size. For example, in the following image, the S size grading point is located -1.00 on the X axis from the M size (base size) grading point, and the XS size grading point is -1.20 on the X axis from the S size grading point.
-
Relative to Base
A change relative to the base is the total change measured from that grading point to the base size grading point. For example, in the following image, the S size grading point is located -1.00 on the X axis from the M size (base size) grading point, and the XS size grading point is -2.20 on the X axis from the M size (base size) grading point.
However you grade the sizes, the grading settings are dynamically linked so that both Incremental and Relative to Base are automatically updated,
-
-
To set the grading, click the value you want to change.
Tip
You can drag your mouse to select multiple values to change more than one.
-
Type in the new value, and press Enter. The 2D window displays the grading change.
Note
However you grade the sizes, the grading settings are dynamically linked so that if you make a change to an Incremental value, Relative to Base is automatically updated, and the other way around.
2023.2.0 and newer
Toggle the eye icon to display or hide sizes from the 2D window. The base size is always on display by default.
Comments
This definitely helped me to understand how to update a graded nest from a pattern that was provided to me by a vendor. Thank you!!!
