Is there or will there be a function where we can add .Rul file to existing BW file? Example : DXF imported without. Rul and simulated, then later on .Rul file is available for this DXF file and would like to add to file in already in work to design in sizes.  Does anyone know or have insight.

Thank you

  • Hi Veronica,

Thanks for wrting into the community forum. Currently, you are not able to import in only a .Rul file to use with the pattern pieces that you have in use in your .bw file. However, if you do end up grading the pattern pieces in an external software after you have already stitched them up in VStitcher, you can import the graded patterns in again with the rule table into that same .bw file and use the replace piece function to switch the patterns out without disturbing any stitching or styling you have already done. One thing to keep in mind is that replace piece does not work with internal lines so you may need to manually correct those later.

To use the replace piece function, select the old pattern and the new pattern in the 2D window, then from the drop down in the 2D pattern resources tab select replace piece - between two selected. Please see the screenshot below as an example:

Please let me know if you have any further questions regarding this matter.

    Best,

    Afsha
