Hi all, I am trying to simulate a wool sweater with a fuzzy knitted stitch underneath a black leather jacket, so it's a layered outfit.
When I render the fur, it actually pokes through the leather jacket, where the pieces lay against the skin.
(i attached the image where you can see where it happens...)
How can I prevent that from happening? Could you advise?
Thanks

Hi Astrid,
This is actually a normal reaction when using fur with a garment that is layered underneath a different garment. Since the outer garment is not pushed out to make room for the thickness of the fur, it ends up going through it.
We recommend using closed cut marks when applying fur to the areas of the underneath garment that will be visible. The steps below will walk you through on how to accomplish this.
1. Create a copy of the body fabric that has fur applied to it.
Disable the fur on one of the copies and apply that material to the body pieces of the under garment.
You will be creating your cut mark with the pen tool by having edit points disabled and snap to point/edge on. Also enable the trace button.
Using the pen tool, create a closed shape with internal lines in the area of your garment that will be exposed through the jacket. With the Trace button enabled, the pen will easily snap to your pattern edges as you draw.
Once you have created the closed shape, select it and turn it into a cut mark.
Next apply the material with the fur to the closed cut mark and use the Ray Trace render preview to see the results before rendering.
Please let me know if you need any further clarification on this technique or if you have any further questions.
Best,
Afsha
