Is there a tool in browzwear to correct a pattern with a fold and close action as you would on a paper pattern?  See my attachment below for a better explanation

    Hi Susan, 

    To complete the actions described in your photo, I would recommend the following steps:
    A pattern adjustment I would recommend trying would be adding a center back seam and shaping the curve. We will follow similar steps.

    hi Zisie,

    How does one determine how much to take out?  I understand how to measure the space between the 2 internal lines on step one.. But how do you determine what is the correct amount to take out? by just looking at the garment on the 3D body. Are we just guessing what is the amount to take out?  In real life we would just pin the fullness and measure it and then adjust the pattern.

    Hi Sonziry, 

    To determine how much to take out, I recommend drawing a pen line in 3D above and below area you would like to remove. Stitching the two lines together, we can replicate the effect of pinning the excess out, then measure between the two internal lines to get an amount to remove.

    The previous information is very helpful!

    Once the area is defined as shown, can the Slash & Spread be used with negative numbers on both the start and the end points to shorten the piece?

    I am working with a pattern shape that is on the half without symmetry.

    I cannot get the start and the end of the slash to 'overlap' in one step.  The second input defaults to zero when a negative number is input.  I am able to shorten the piece in two steps with each edge done separately as a wedge to zero.

    The opposite direction seems to work in one step, meaning I can lengthen the piece at both the start and end points using Slash and Spread with a positive number.

    What am I missing?

    Hello Ann,

    You are correct in your understanding, you cannot close both sides at the same time using the slash & spread tool. You will need to follow the instructions listed out by Zisie in her original answer by slicing the pattern and merging the pieces.
