Bias Sample - Short Segment Test
There are the following tests for the bias sample:
Long segment test
Short segment test
To run the short segment test:
If not already at the FAB user interface, start the FAB, open DB Admin, and click Use FAB. For more information, refer to Using the FAB.

On the list on the left side of the page, click Bias - Short Segment.

At Enter fabric width, type in the sample width. (The default is 5 cm.)
Remove any sample fabric from the machine.

Ensure that the:
Fixed (or stationary) clamp is closed.
Movable clamp is open.
Click Start. The movable clamp moves into place.

Slide the narrow block (without grooves) between the clamps.
The block has guidelines which you should align with the guidelines on the clamps as shown in the following image.
Position the fabric sample on the FAB according to Positioning Fabric for Short Segment Tests.
Remove the block.
Click Start.

Wait for step 2 to complete. This is indicated by a blue tick displaying at the step.
Slide a pencil or a pen under the sample to very lightly create an upward arch.
Click Start.

Wait for step 3 to complete. This is indicated by a blue tick displaying at the step.
Tap the length of a pen or pencil very lightly over the sample to create a downward arch.

Click Start.
The test is complete when four blue ticks are displayed on the right side of the page.

Depending on what is displayed, do one of the following:

If Calculate is displayed, click Calculate. A new page is displayed showing all calculated values.
If Bend values are too low, an error message is displayed. To add the correct Bend values, do a Manual Bend Test. If Next is displayed, click Next. The calculated values display in the application after you click Finish.

On the Results page, click:
Export JSON to export the results in JSON format.
Recalculate to recalculate the results.
Save to save the data. The data is automatically synchronized with DB Admin and the system returns to the DB Admin starting page.
In DB Admin, at the top, click .
