Manual Bend Test
If prompted by the FAB, you can do a manual Bend test.
To do the test:
With DB Admin open, select the appropriate fabric.
-
At Bend, click the calculator icon.
The Bend Calculator dialog box is displayed.
You are going to take three measurements:Center fold - the value goes in Fold Height 1
Left fold - the value goes in Fold Height 2
Right fold - the value goes in Fold Height 3
-
Lay the Width sample flat on a smooth surface.
-
Fold the sample in half to produce the center fold. Then, measure the distance of the gap between the sample sides, excluding the fabric width, as shown in the following image.
-
In Fold Height 1, type in the measurement.
-
Lift the top side of the sample and put it further to the left, so it reaches past the bottom layer. Then measure the distance of the gap between the sample sides, excluding the fabric width, as shown in the following image.
-
In Fold Height 2, type in the measurement.
-
Lay the sample fabric out flat. Then, take the left side and put it out to the right, so it reaches past the bottom layer as shown in the following image. Measure the distance of the gap between the sample sides, excluding the fabric width, as shown in the following image.
-
In Fold Height 3, type in the measurement.
-
Repeat steps 3-9 using the Length sample. Ensure you type in the values in the correct boxes.
Click Calculate.
