You can use the Pleats/Darts feature to add a normal dart to your garment.
To add a normal dart, you:

Insert a pleat

Convert the pleat to a dart
To add a normal dart:

On the Main toolbar, click Insert.

On the Horizontal contextual menu, click
.

Click Pleats/Darts.

In the 2D window, click the edge you want to add the dart to. The default pleat is displayed, extending across the piece, perpendicular to the edge you clicked.
For example, the following image shows a piece and where the user clicks.
And this image shows how the pleat is inserted.

To convert the pleat to a dart:

On the Horizontal contextual menu, ensure Edit Points is selected.

In the 2D window, drag
from the edge of the piece to where you want the point of the dart.
The following image shows how to create the point of the dart.

In the 2D window, click one of the pleat points (
,
, or
). In the Context view, Transformations and Draping Options are displayed.

Select Fully Stitched (Dart).
The dart lines are displayed in green to help distinguish them from pleats. The thicker line shows which side is the top layer of the dart. Pleat lines are white.
The fabric is removed from fully stitched darts. This is displayed when the garment is seen in prepare mode as in the following image.

Edit the dart as required:
Tip
If you want to reposition a dart through a corner point on the edge of a piece, you must first turn the corner point off.
To turn the corner point off:

In the 2D window, click the point.

Go to the Context view.

In the Point Properties section, clear Corner Point.

Drag
to move the dart fold.

Drag
to widen or narrow the dart.

Drag
to move the point and length of the dart.

For more precise configuration of the dart:

In the 2D window, click one of the dart points (
,
, or
). In the Context view, Transformations and Draping Options are displayed.

Type in the values you want for the dart properties. Click Align to Start to reset
so that it is perpendicular to
.
