    Description

    Multi Move

Enable to allow you to move edges with multiple points while maintaining shape integrity. When enabled, green points appear on all corner points and any intermediate points that have been designated as Pin Points. The pin points act as anchor points, maintaining shape integrity of areas of the pattern while other segments are being edited.

Expand the following image to see this feature in action.

To make an intermediate point a pin point:

    1. On the Main toolbar, click Select.

    2. On the Horizontal contextual menu, ensure Edit Points and Pieces are both selected.

    3. In the 2D window, click the point.

    4. Go to the Context view.

    5. If Pin Point is not displayed, click Multi Move.

    6. Select Pin Point.

    Move

To move the point, type in the desired X (horizontal) or Y (vertical) position. For information about how the X and Y numbers work, refer to X Axis, Y Axis, and Moving Points.

    Curve Type

The curve type of a point determines how a pattern piece edge or internal line moves through the point. For example, by default a corner point has a Sharp curve type.

    • Sharp: Both handles are deactivated at the point, resulting in a sharp corner intersection from both lines meeting at the point.

    • Curved: One or both handles at the point are active at the point but independent of each other. Lines meeting at the point may be curved or sharp depending on the handle orientation. Handles appear in red and blue if both handles are active but independent of each other.

    • Smooth: Both Handles at the point are active and connected. The line moves smoothly through the point.

    Handles

Click to toggle the left and right handle for the point on or off.

    • If both are toggled on, both handles display

    • If both are toggled off, no handles display, and the curve type is automatically set to Sharp

    • If one handle is toggled off, only one handle displays and can be used

    • If one handle is toggled off, the curve type is automatically set to Curved

    Allowance Corner

Displays only for a corner point.

    • Regular 1

    • Regular 2

    • Foldback 1

    • Foldback 2

    • Square 1

    • Square 2

For more information, refer to Seam Allowances.

    Glue

Displays only for an end point. Select to ensure the internal line stays right on the piece edge, even if the piece is altered.

    Corner Point

Select to make the point a corner point. Clear the selection if you don't want the point to be a corner point.

A corner point defines the start or end of an edge on a pattern piece. Corner points separate the adjacent edges on a piece, and dictate sides for stitching and seam artwork placement. Working with corner points on pattern piece edges makes stitching 3D garments easier, and helps control the placement of seams.

    Graded

Read only. Indicates whether the point is a grading point. (This setting was removed in Version 2023.3.)

    Notch

Select to make the point a notch. The notch displays as a yellow line.

    • Continuous - Default. The seam image continues through the point.

    • Meet - The seam image from either side of the point ends at the point.

    Drill

Displays only for a point which is neither on an edge nor an internal line. Select to make the point a drill point.
