This feature allows you to rotate a piece vertically or horizontally using the piece edges. You can rotate the piece by selecting one edge, or by selecting two points on an edge of the piece.

To rotate a piece by an edge:

  1. In the 2D window, select the desired edge.

  2. In the Context view, select Line. The line options are displayed

  3. Under Actions, select Rotate Piece by Edge.

    Rotation direction options are displayed.

  4. Select the desired rotation direction option. The piece is rotated accordingly.

The following images shows horizontal piece rotation by edge.

To rotate a piece by selecting two points:

  1. Select two points on an edge of a piece.

  2. Right click to display options.

  3. Hover the cursor over Rotate Piece option. Rotation direction options are displayed.

  4. Select the desired rotation direction. The piece is rotated accordingly.

The following image shows piece rotation by points using the right click.

You can also rotate a piece perpendicular or parallel using a grain line on the piece. You can rotate the piece by selecting a grain line, or by selecting two points on a grain line.

To flip the piece using a grain line:

  1. In the 2D window, select the desired grain line.

  2. In the Context view, select Line. The line options are displayed

  3. Under Actions, select Rotate Grain Line by Edge.

  4. Select the desired rotation direction option. The piece is rotated.

To rotate a piece using two points on a grain line:

  1. Select two points on a grain line.

  2. Right click to display options.

  3. Hover the cursor over Rotate Grain Line. Rotation direction options are displayed.

  4. Select the desired rotation direction. The piece is rotated accordingly.
