The element ordering functionality allows you to set the relative layer order of each element.

There are the following ways to access the feature:

Layer Ordering Using the Context View

To order an element:

  1. In the 2D window, click on the element you want to order.

  2. Go to the Context view, at the bottom of the Actions section. The Order icons are displayed.

  3. Adjust the order as required.

    • Click

      up-all.png

      to put the element to the top.

    • Click

      up.png

      to move the element up one layer.

    • Click

      down-all.png

      to put the element to the bottom.

    • Click

      down.png

      to move the element down one layer.

    Note

    You can select several elements at once and adjust their order as a group.

Layer Ordering Using the Resources Tabs

To order an element:

  1. Ensure Enhanced Layer Blending is enabled:

    1. On the Main menu, click Garment.

    2. If not already marked as selected, click Enhanced Layer Blending.

  2. On the Resources tabs, click 2D. The contents of the 2D window are shown in expandable and collapsible sections.

  3. Toggle

    to expand and collapse a section.

    Note

    Although the following example shows the reordering of internal elements, you can use the same functionality to reorder pattern pieces.

    In this view, the elements are shown in their vertical order. You can expand each piece to see its contents, including edges, internal lines, and artwork.

  4. To change the order, drag an element.

    For example, the following image shows an internal line (element 3) in the layer above an item of artwork (element 30). The line is dragged below the artwork and is now in the layer under the artwork.

Layer Ordering Using Right-Click

To order an element:

  1. In the 2D window, right-click on the element you want to order. A menu is displayed.

  2. Click Order. A further menu is displayed.

  3. Adjust the order as required.

    • Click Top to put the element to the top.

    • Click Step Up to move the element up one layer.

    • Click Bottom to put the element to the bottom.

    • Click Step Down to move the element down one layer.
