Inserting Notches

How to mark specific locations along your edges while walking pieces

While in walk mode, you can insert notches at any point in a piece.

To insert a notch:

  1. In the 2D window, right-click on any point on the piece.

Note: If the garment is graded, the notch is automatically graded. That means that if you are working on a pattern of a particular size (for example, Medium), the other sizes in the file will have a notch inserted at the same point.

  2. Select Insert Notch

If there is already a point below the pivot point, it is automatically set to be a notch.

  3. In the Insert Notch menu, select one of the following:

    1. Walk Piece

    2. Stationary Piece

    3. Both Pieces

    A notch is inserted.
