This section deals with adding trim, other than smart buttons and zippers, to a garment.

Note

Smart buttons and zippers have unique properties. For more information, refer to:

Trim objects are either:

  • Edge assignable - can only be assigned to an edge or line

  • Piece assignable - can only be assigned to a piece as an internal element

To add trim to a piece, edge, or line:

  1. If the Materials tab is not already open, on the Resources tabs, click Materials.

  2. If not already open, click the Garment tab.

  3. From the appropriate Trims section, drag the trim to the piece, edge, or line in the 2D window.

Note

If you assign trim to a line or edge, it automatically repeats along the length of the line or edge.

The following image shows 2D trim being added to a curved line.

  6. In the 2D window, the cursor changes when over a piece to confirm the application is in assign mode. Click on the piece, edge, or line you want to assign the trim to.

Tip

You can also drag the trim to the piece, or assign the trim to the piece, in the 3D window.
