Overview
Static Points lets you stack all graded sizes of a pattern piece onto one point, so you can compare the sizes at that point and check grading against your reference. You can now stack on the X axis, the Y axis, or both. Grading on symmetry pieces is kept intact, and you can return to the nested view in one step.
Prerequisites
VStitcher 2026.3.0 or later
A graded garment open in the Sizes & Grading tool
How to set a static point
1. Open the Sizes & Grading tool.
2. Select the grade point you want to use as your reference.
3. Click Set Static, or right-click the point and choose a stacking axis. The static point is marked with a diamond:
4. Choose the Stacking Axis: XY (default) stacks all sizes on one spot, X lines them up vertically, and Y lines them up horizontally. Changing the axis re-stacks the piece immediately.

5. Review and adjust the grading as needed.
6. To return to the nested view, select the piece and click Restore Nested View in the Piece Transformation section, or turn off Set Static on the point.
How to add keyboard shortcuts
Open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog and go to Tools → Garment.
Enter a shortcut for any of these actions: Set Static XY, Set Static X, Set Static Y, Restore Nested View.
Note: Restore Nested View keeps any grading edits you made while the point was static.
Limitations
Each piece can have one active static point. Setting a new one replaces the previous one.
The static point's grade is locked while it is static.
On pieces with inner symmetry, the mirrored point is also locked, and you can't set static on both sides.
The Stacking Axis control is available only while Set Static is on.
The active static point is saved in the BW file.
