Note

Note:

  • In general, it is recommended to work from top to bottom of the avatar when changing measurements.

  • To view the body part for which the measurement is shown, click inside the box displaying the number of the measurement. A green line is displayed in the 3D window showing what is being measured.

  • Some measurements are interlinked. When you click on the drop-down of an interlinked measurement, it is displayed with a solid orange border, and other interlinked measurements are highlighted with an orange dotted border.

Any change to a primary body part may also automatically change an interlinked part. This is to maintain proportions.

For example, the following image shows when changes are made to the armpit, the measurements on bicep, arm, and wrist may also change automatically. However, you can always go to the specific sliders for each of these measurements and edit them independently.

    hands.png

For example, the following image shows what happens when the user clicks in the Shoulders box. A green line is displayed in the 3D window showing what is being measured. The Shoulders box is highlighted with a solid orange border. Chest, to which Shoulders is linked, is shown with an orange dotted border.

Editing Measurements

In the Measurements tab, you can edit the size of different parts of the avatar. If required, click play-icon.png to expand a section to see the measurements in detail.

Tip

In general, it is recommended to first make any required changes to the Body Shaping section, and then work from top to bottom of the avatar when changing measurements.

The following measurement sections are available

  • Height

  • Body Silhouette

  • Torso

  • Legs

  • Hands

  • Body Shaping

  • Face

To view the body part for which the measurement is shown, click inside the box displaying the number of the measurement. In the 3D window:

  • A yellow line is displayed showing what is being measured

  • A thin light-blue line is displayed showing the secondary (related) measurements

If you edit a measurement, proportionate changes are made to the related measurements.

For example, the following image shows an avatar whose waist measurement is being edited. Note the light-blue lines denoting the related measurements.

waist.png

Sliders

The color of the slider handle for a property is significant.

  • Blue- a default value. For example, in the following image for the avatar Adam, Height is at the default value.

    height-default.png
  • Orange - an edited value. For example, in the following image for the avatar Adam, Height has been edited.

    height.png

When you click on a measurement slider, as with clicking on a value, in the 3D window:

  • A yellow line is displayed showing what is being measured

  • A thin light-blue line is displayed showing the secondary (related) measurements

Reminder: If you edit a measurement, proportionate changes are made to the related measurements.

Reset

After editing a measurement, a reset icon is displayed: reset3.PNG. To reset the value, click reset3.PNG.

Automatic Adjustment

As you edit the value for a measurement, the software automatically makes proportionate changes in the related measurements. For example, if you edit the value for the waist, the software automatically adjusts the high waist, chest, neck, shoulders, and so on.

Important Exception to Automatic Adjustment

If you have already edited a related measurement, the software excludes that from any automatic adjustment.

Example: If you click on the shoulders, one of the related measurements is the high waist. Assume you edit the high waist. First, the slider handle displays in orange. Second, if you now click on the shoulders, the high waist is not highlighted as a related measurement. If you edit the shoulders, the software does not automatically update the high waist. You can still edit the chest manually.

The following image shows the initial selection of the shoulders, with the high waist being highlighted as a related measurement. Then the high waist is edited. After that, selecting the shoulders to edit does not highlight the high waist. Note that, after editing, the high waist slider handle is colored orange.
