Release Notes
Release Date: March 31, 2025
We are excited to introduce VStitcher 2025.1.1, delivering enhanced 2D and 3D creation tools for garment prototyping, improved fit workflows, and more detailed fabric visualizations.
What's New and Improved in VStitcher 2025.1.1
Home Screen
-
Quickly access recent files and discover dynamic content, including tutorials and support articles.
Grid Subdivision
-
Define 3D geometry subdivisions for finer control over fabric draping in specific areas.
- The internal lines properties menu is now divided into Line Properties and Simulation Properties for improved organization and usability.
Layering by Area
-
Simulate specific areas to be placed above or below others regardless of piece layer definitions.
Replace Piece with Internal Elements
-
Update a garment piece with a newer version while preserving internal elements, including assigned materials, stitches, and line properties.
Replace Between Internal Lines
-
Replace between pairs of internal lines while preserving its elements, including assigned materials, stitches, and line properties.
Duplicate Stitches for Symmetry Creation
-
When creating symmetry (full or inner), stitches are now duplicated automatically, with the option to disable duplication.
-
In the Single Stitch Tool, users can disable stitch duplication on the opposite side of the symmetry.
-
Known Issue: Stitches will not be duplicated to pieces that lack inner or full symmetry.
New Options for "Save as Ruler"
-
"Save as Ruler" is now renamed to "Save Ruler".
-
New capabilities allow users to display and save rulers for measuring X, Y, straight distances, and lengths of edges, lines, internal lines, and all types of points.
Symmetrical Avatar Posing
-
Multi-selection and rotation of joints: Edit multiple joints at once using Shift to add selections.
- Symmetry mode: Rotate one side of the avatar skeleton, and the other side adjusts automatically for symmetry.
- Mirror Joint Rotation: Apply mirrored joint rotations for selected joints.
- Select Hierarchy: Quickly select a chain of connected joints, useful for manipulating fingers or mirroring multiple joints (e.g., selecting an entire arm by hierarchy and mirroring).
- Copy-Paste Settings Dropdown: Transfer all rotation values (X, Y, Z) from one joint to another.
- Known Issue: Some avatars may display asymmetrical poses when using Symmetry Mode or Mirror Joint Rotation, due to skeletal structure inconsistencies.
PBR Material Improvements
-
Automatically generate Specular Level Maps to ensure fabrics are rendered realistically and maintain consistency in exported 3D files.
-
The Material Editing Menu has been reorganized to align with the standard Metalness/Roughness PBR Workflow.
YKK Metal Finish Presets
-
Predefined YKK Metal Finish Presets can now be applied to 3D trims for a more accurate representation.
Export Colors of SBSAR Materials to Tech-Pack
-
Ensure SBSAR material colors are accurately displayed in Tech-Packs to align with industry standards and improve collaboration.
Export DXF ASTM
-
Added support for DXF ASTM, ensuring accurate piece quantity in 2D CAD systems.
Inherit Grading for Clone Edges by Offset
-
Points on internal lines cloned by offset will now automatically inherit the grading rules from the corresponding edge.
GPU Troubleshooting Detection
-
Detects hardware limitations and provides notifications on operating system settings that should be adjusted for an optimal experience in VStitcher and Lotta.
Tech-Pack Improvements
-
Full Pieces Layout Export for All Sizes: Each size is now exported as a separate PDF file and stored in the Tech-Pack Folder (not included in the Tech-Pack layout preview).
- New Option: Remove Piece ID from exported PDFs of full pieces layouts.
- Artwork Page: Improved presentation of artworks and color names on Excel Tech-Pack.
Full Layout for All Sizes in Print to File
-
Export full piece layouts for all sizes, with each size saved as an individual PDF file.
Render with the Latest Version of Blender
-
Rendering now supports the latest Blender version (4.3) for enhanced output quality.
What's Fixed in VStitcher 2025.1.1
- Alignment issue in exported GLB.
- The radial gradient from Illustrator shows the wrong color of the extended color in VStitcher.
- Fixed truncated color information on Tech-Pack artwork page.
- 3D trim imported via custom library was dislocated & rotated.
- Fur rendering issues.
- Textured pressure map not displayed in 3D.
- Default animations for “Emil” downloaded from the cloud are not working.
- System Instability while rotating a smart button.
- Copy and paste grading tool does not work in certain scenarios.
- DXF deformation after import to VS on Mac.
- UI components error sporadically appears.
- UI component error in 2023.3.
- Parts of embroidery effect sink into avatar in 2024.1 and 2024.2.
- Pixelated V-Ray preview after opening and closing render window.
- Graded pattern missing internal line reference on Print-to-file
- Fabric physics imports incorrectly when a json file exists next to the imported u3ma files.
- Custom preset view not rendering properly.
- High-resolution GIF rendering result has a non-smooth rotation.
- Texture appears different between fabric and seam width.
- Zipper does not display in 2D window when texture mode is on.
- u3ma import doesn’t save color blending mode in Recolor.
- Splitting an internal line with multiple points causes random splits.
- Lighting changes unexpectedly on material update.
-
API: Update GarmentImport description schema name from ‘open_settings.json’ to ‘import_settings.json’.
-
Ellipse internal elements get distorted in grading view.
-
Exported metalness map inconsistencies.
-
API reports rulers that do not exist.
