Updated this week

The New Folder structure offered in Stylezone 6.2 version replaces the Old Stylezone structure of using Groups and Boards.

The new folder structure introduces:

  • Unlimited nesting for better organization

  • Customizable views to suit different workflows

  • Flexible filters for efficient navigation

  • Dynamic permissions settings for sub-folders

Folders Overview

To view folders, click on the folder icon on the left and select Folders from the folders tab.

The Folders List displays the highest-level folders you have access to. Within these, you can now create unlimited levels of sub-folders.

Adding a New Folder

To add a new folder, either:

  • Click the + New Folder button.

  • Select Add New Folder from the Add New dropdown menu.

In the pop-up window:

  • Name (Required)

  • Location (Required): The default location will be the folder where you clicked ‘+ New Folder’

  • Description

  • Type

If the folder type is set to 'Members and Externals' we can choose to hide other folder users from external users in the folder:

  • If this option is selected: external participants in the folder will be able to see all other users included in this folder

  • If this option is deselected: external participants will not be able to see other users included in the folder

  • Users with the 'Member' role will always be able to see all users in the folder

Note: the ability to configure this option is only available for users with the 'Moderator' role in the folder.

Adding a Highest-Level Folder

To create a highest-level folder:

  • Set Folders as the Location.

  • You can also define the Folder Type (see Folder Types).

Adding a Sub-Folder

To create a sub-folder within an existing folder:

  • Select the parent folder from the Location dropdown.

  • The sub-folder will inherit the user roles, permissions, and folder type from its highest-level parent. These settings cannot be changed.

Folder Actions

Within a folder, you can:

  • Manage Users

  • Add Styles and Sub-Folders

  • Edit folder details

  • Duplicate the folder

  • Delete the folder

Managing Users

In the Manage Users window, you can:

  • Find & Add users from Stylezone.

  • Change Roles of existing users. For more information, see Folder Roles.

  • Remove Users from the folder.

Adjusting Sub-folder permissions

A folder moderator can configure sub-folders to have different permissions than the parent folder. This includes:

  • Changing folder type

  • Add/remove users

  • Change user roles (Moderator / Contributor / Reviewer / External)

This means you can have a larger parent folder that contains multiple sub-folders, each with their own permissions settings and user groups. Here are examples of how this can be setup:

Parent: Members Only

  • Subfolder can be: Members Only / Members + Externals / Public

Parent: Members + Externals

  • Subfolder can be: Members + Externals / Members Only / Public

Parent: Public

  • Subfolder can be: Public / Members + Externals / Members Only

Users only see folders they have access to - hidden folders will not be visible to users who do not have access to the selected sub-folder.

Note: Duplicating the entire folder tree duplicates with identical permission structure. The settings configured in your original folder will initially be the same in the duplicated folders.

Adding Styles & Folders

  • Click + New Style to manually upload a style. For more information, see Uploading Without Lotta or VStitcher.

  • Click + New Folder to create a new sub-folder within the selected folder.

Editing a Folder

  • You can rename any folder.

  • Folder Type can be changed for highest-level folders (applying folder type to all sub-folders) or can be changed per sub-folder
