Group Types

Each group type has different characteristics as described in the following table.

Type

Description

Private

A group consisting only of you. For more information, refer to Groups and Personal Areas.

Members only

A group for members only.

Members and external users

A group for members and External users.

Public

A group open to all who have the appropriate link.

Groups and Personal Zones

Every user has their own personal zone (previously called a private area) which is a private group, automatically created when the user account is created. Also, the user's personal zone automatically has a board called My Uploads.

Users can upload styles to the boards in their personal zone. In Stylezone, a logged in user who clicks on their username, and clicks Profile can view their user page. This includes a Private Board tab, with the My Uploads board, and any other personal zone boards. Users can create as many boards in their personal zone as they wish.

What differentiates the personal zone from other groups is that a user cannot invite people to the personal zone - it is for his or her eyes only. Admin users do not have access to other users' personal zones.

When a user decides they are ready to share a private style inside a group, they can share the style from their personal zone into a board in a group. A copy of the style is kept in the user’s personal zone.

For information about how to add a board to your personal zone, refer to Adding a Private Board.
