You can configure the following aspects of the 3D environment to suit your requirements:
You can choose the overall environment of the 3D window.
To chose the environment:
On the Main menu, click 3D Environment, then Environment. A menu of environment options is displayed.
Click the environment you want to use.
You can choose the lighting you want in the 3D environment.
To choose the lighting:
On the Main menu, click 3D Environment, then Lights. A menu of lighting options is displayed.You can also view the lighting options by right-clicking in the 3D window, then clicking Edit Lights.
Click the lighting option you want to use.
To see the full effect, on the 3D window toolbar, click .
If you are happy with the lighting, you do not need to do anything more.
Click Edit Lights if you want to edit the lighting. The Edit Image Based Lighting dialog box is displayed.
Do one of the following:
Edit the Exposure and Rotate Image settings as required.
Click to use your own HDRI file for lighting effects.
Click Add new file. A file explorer window is displayed.
Navigate to where the lighting file is located, and select it.
Click Open. The lighting file is loaded into the application and applied to the 3D environment.
Depending on the type of avatar you are using, you can configure certain avatar settings. For more information, refer to Avatars.
You can use a quick (standard) or custom camera view.
The Quick view icons are on the right side of the 3D toolbar.
Click one of the first four icons for the view you want: front, left, back, and right.
The last icon on the right is used for custom views. For more information, refer to Custom Views in the 3D Window.
You can position the 3D window on the left, the right, or allow it to float. The default location is on the right.
To position the window:
On the Main menu, click View, then Dock 3D Window.
Click one of the available options:.
Position on left
Position on right
The 3D window displays as selected.
You can configure which tools display in the window.
Hide the 3D window toolbar. To do so, on the toolbar, click . Click again for the toolbar to display.
Hide the Navigation toolbar. To do so, on the Main menu, click View, then click Show 3D Toolbar, then click 3D Navigation. Repeat to have the tools display.
