How to Arrange Pieces
Before you can simulate a garment, you must arrange the layout of the pieces on the avatar. This is how you tell VStitcher where the various pieces belong.
Syncing Arrange Mode
When creating a garment, before using arrange mode and starting to put the pieces into clusters, you may prefer the pieces to be laid out similarly to how they are in the 2D window. With this feature, you can sync the arrange mode display so that it shows the pattern pieces in the same general layout as in the 2D window.
To sync the arrange mode display:
-
On the Main toolbar, click Arrange.
The Arrange window is displayed.
-
On the Main menu, click View.
-
Click Sync Layout. The available options are displayed.
-
Click By 2D window. The pattern pieces are displayed in arrange mode to conform with the same general layout in the 2D window.

The 3D layer field is a number. Click the field to change the value by typing in the new number you want or using the up and down arrows.
The 3D layer feature allows you to organize and manage pattern pieces with a stacking order. The feature is useful when working with garments that have multiple pieces stacked on top of one another, such as patch pockets, plackets, or cuffs.
The 3D layer feature uses the following logic:
-
Layers with lower number values are closer to the body
-
Layers with higher numbers are further from the body
-
By default, all pattern pieces are assigned to layer 2
-
Layer 0 is the layer closest to the body.
Use in 3D
Hover over the piece in the Arrange Clusters pane to display the Use in 3D icon. Toggle this according to whether you want the piece to display in 3D output.
