Within each category, you organize the required types. For example, within the Fit category, you might have Regular, Slim, and Tailored. As another example, within a category called Pocket you might have Standard, Embossed, and None. The None type - with no pattern pieces assigned to it - allows you to have combinations without pockets.

To create types:

Go to the Configuration panel.

In the section of a Category:

Click Add Type. Type #1 is displayed.

Click Type #1, type in the name of the type, then press Return.

Click Add Type. Type #2 is displayed.

Click Type #2, type in the name of the type, then press Return.

Repeat steps a and b until you have all the types you want for that category.

Go to the section of each other category and repeat steps 2a and 2b until you have all the types you want for each category.
The following image shows an example of categories and types.
You can create a None type if required for your SmartDesign template.
To create a None type:

Go to the Configuration panel.

In the section of a Category, at Add Type, click the drop-down. Add None Type is displayed.

Click Add None Type. The None type is added.
The following image shows a None type being added to the Pocket category.
If you create a None type, a selection box is added to the category on the Resources tabs.
