When creating a tech pack, you can edit the properties to determine what is included:

On the Main menu, click File.

Click Create Tech Pack. The Create Tech Pack dialog box is displayed.

Click to select or clear a property, as required.
For more information, refer to the property details in the following sections.
BOM
BOM (bill of materials) is a list of all materials currently being used to make the garment.
To edit the BOM properties in a tech pack:

In the Create Tech Pack dialog box, in the BOM section, click . The BOM properties dialog box is displayed.
Note
The right pane of the dialog box displays a continuously updated summary of the included items.

Select or clear, as required:
-
Fabrics
-
Artworks
-
Seams
-
Trims
-
Consolidate by Material Name - select to consolidate the materials in the BOM. This prevents inclusion of multiple variants of the same material.

In the Select Colorways to Export section, select the colorways. You can click Select All to select all colorways.
-
Click Go Back.
Images
This part of the tech pack properties is about rendered images. The option allows you to attach rendered images to the tech pack, and to render new images to attach. For more information, refer to Creating Rendered Images.
To edit the rendered images properties in a tech pack:

In the Create Tech Pack dialog box, in the Images section, click . The Images properties dialog box is displayed, including previously rendered images.
The Multipack option allows you to combine multiple colorways into one rendered image.
Note: You can edit the Images label. To edit the label:
-
Click.
-
Type a new label in the text box that is displayed.
-
Press Enter.
If the label has been edited, the new label displays in the section instead of Images.

Select the rendered images you want to include in the tech pack.

Click Manage to display the Manage Presets dialog box. You can use this to create a new render preset and add it to the list of available renders.

To preview an image, click .

In the Select Colorways to Export section:

Select BOM to export the colorways included in the BOM.
-
Select Custom to make a different selection. You can click Select All to select all colorways.

Click Go Back.
Artwork Position
The artwork position includes detailed placement information for artworks in the garment.
In the Create Tech Pack dialog box, to edit the artwork position properties in a tech pack, select or clear as required:

Full Pattern View
-
Select to show the full pattern piece as context for the placement of the artwork.
-
Clear to show only the relevant pattern edges where the guide markers are placed.

Hide Rulers on Centered Artworks
-
Select to hide the rulers on centered artworks.
-
Clear to show the rulers on centered artworks.

Pattern Shapes
The pattern shapes properties show the layout of pattern pieces, with options to include seam allowances and what pattern pieces artwork is being used on.
To edit the pattern shape properties in a tech pack, in the Create Tech Pack dialog box, in the Pattern Shapes section, click . The Pattern Shapes properties dialog box is displayed.

Select or clear the properties as required.

PDF with Textures
Output as PDF. The content is not editable.

PDF (Vectors Only)
Output as PDF. The content is editable. Vector files are maintained in vector format.

Output as a graphic file in PNG format.

Image Resolution
Note: Not available for PDF (Vectors Only) File Format.
Select the resolution you want:

72 DPI

300 DPI
The higher the DPI, the better the image quality, and the longer it takes to create the file.

For best texture quality, ensure the image in the application has equal or higher DPI than the Print To File DPI.

If you want to use the output as a screen print, it is recommended to use 300 DPI.
Fabric Materials
Note: Not available for PDF (Vectors Only) File Format.
If selected, fabric materials are included in the output.
If this option is selected, you may include or exclude Extend Fabrics over Allowance, meaning fabric texture covering a seam allowance area.
Fabric Color
Note: Not available for PDF (Vectors Only) File Format.
If selected, each fabric’s diffuse color is used as the solid color. If a multilayered fabric, the fabric with Use Physics selected determines the color selected. If not selected, all pattern pieces use the Allowance color. (The Allowance color is set in your 2D window preferences.)
If this option is selected, you may include or exclude Extend Fabrics over Allowance, meaning fabric texture covering a seam allowance area.
Seam Materials
Note: Not available for PDF (Vectors Only) File Format.
Materials used on seams.
Internal Lines
If selected, internal lines are included in the output.
Artwork & Trim (Vector Only)
Note: Not available for PDF (Vectors Only) File Format.
If selected, vector artwork and trim is included in the output. Non vector artwork and trim is not included in the output.
If selected, you may include or exclude Show out of Piece Elements, meaning artwork and trium which is outside pieces.
Artwork and Trim
Note: Not available for PDF (Vectors Only) File Format.
if selected, you may include or exclude:

Draw Rulers - if any
-
Hide Rulers on Centered Artworks - if selected, rulers on centered artworks are hidden

Show out of Piece Elements - artwork and trim outside pieces
Allowance
Seam allowance area for printed shapes.
All Sizes
If selected, you may include or exclude Nest, meaning size shapes are nested.
Export Inside View
View of artwork added to inside of the garment.
Export all Pieces in a Single File
Additional file including all pieces.
Use Original DXF Names
The name of the original DXF shape is used as part of the default shape name: Current name (Original name).

Export DXF
This option allows you to include a DXF file of the garment in the tech pack.
To edit the DXF properties in a tech pack:

In the Create Tech Pack dialog box, in the Export DXF section, click . The Export DXF properties dialog box is displayed.

In the Units section, select the unit of measurement.
-
In the Spline Points Quantity section, select Minimum, Average, or Maximum.
-
In the Export section, select or clear the properties as required.
-
Click Go Back.
Rulers
3D Annotations
3D annotations are comments added in the 3D window.
To edit the 3D annotations properties in a tech pack:

In the Create Tech Pack dialog box , in the 3D Annotations section, click to display the Annotations properties dialog box. This displays all annotations.
Version 2022.2.5 and newer
-
Select the Keep Content Within Frame checkbox to ensure that annotations are not cropped when added to the Tech Pack, and that all content (markings and drawings) is visible.
Note
Since annotations are usually created with different proportions, this feature ensures that annotation drawings and markers are kept inside the square annotation frame when exporting to the Tech Pack.
Take note of the following:
-
By default, this option is not enabled. Changes to the checkbox state are saved with the tech pack preset.
-
Older presets can be loaded as usual.
-
Newly exported annotations will not change the layout of the Tech Pack.
-
The checkbox doesn't influence external annotation drawings.
-
-
Select or clear Show Avatar, as required. If selected, the avatar is displayed with the annotation in the tech pack.
-
Click Go Back.
Sizes
You can choose what sizes are included in the tech pack.
To choose the sizes:
-
In the Create Tech Pack dialog box , in the Garment Sizes section, click to display the available sizes.

Click a size to select it. Clear the selection to exclude the size.

Click Select All to select all sizes. (Available in VStitcher 2019 August Edition and newer.)
Note
When all are selected, Deselect All is displayed.
