This feature allows you to reduce the number of intermediate points on a line, thus helping to improve simulation performance:
You can use the feature on an edge or internal line.
In the 2D window, click the line or edge to select it.
Go to the Context view, and in the Actions section, click Reduce Points. The number of intermediate points on the line or edge is reduced.
Note: You can repeat the procedure to remove further points. However, each time you do the procedure this could affect the integrity of the curve. At a certain status, a message may display confirming no further reduction is possible.
Shape Tolerance Control - 2026.1.4 and newer
VStitcher 2026.1.4 adds a new Shape Tolerance Control to the Reduce Points tool. Before reducing points, you can set how much the shape is allowed to deviate from the current shape. The tool will only apply the changes if they stay within the limit you set.
After selecting the reduce points tool, a pop-up dialog will appear:
This will allow you to specify your accepted tolerance for shape deviation after reducing points.
