You may want to hide the avatar, so you can view and display the garment without a body form.
To hide the avatar:
In the 3D window, right-click the avatar - away from the garment. A menu is displayed.
Click Hide Avatar.

If you have hidden the avatar, it is straightforward to show the avatar again.
To show the avatar:
In the 3D window, right-click where the avatar would be if it were displaying. A menu is displayed.
Click Show Avatar.
