You can configure the settings for the rendered turntable as required, as detailed in the following table.

Setting

Description

3D Camera Views

Use these settings to:

Select a preset camera view:

  • Click the appropriate icon.

    The view in the 3D window is adjusted.

Select a previously saved custom view:

  1. Click

    . A menu is displayed listing previously saved custom views.

  2. Click the view you want to use. The view in the 3D window is adjusted.

Add a custom view:

  1. In the Render window, in the 3D window, use your mouse to adjust the view as required.

  2. Click

    . A menu is displayed.

  3. Click Add 3D View. A text box is displayed.

  4. Type in the name for the view, and click OK. The view is available to be selected as a previously saved custom view.

Render Type

to display a list of the available renders. The list that displays depends on your preference settings. Click the render you want to use.

  • Normal Render

  • Schematic Render

  • Ray Trace Render

    • If Ray Trace Render (Local - V-Ray) or Ray Trace Render (Remote - V-Ray) is selected, the Render Quality option is displayed.

      You may select Low, Medium, High, or Best. The higher the quality, the better the render and the longer it takes to produce the render.

      If Ray Trace Render (Local - Blender) or Ray Trace Render (Remote - Blender) is selected, the Render Quality (Cycles) option is displayed.

      Type in the number of cycles to a maximum of 500. The higher the number, the higher the quality of the render, and the more time it takes.

      A low number - for example, 10-50 - typically produces a grainy image in a short time. Such output is useful for testing the lighting and general previewing.

      A higher number - for example 300-500 - typically produces a smoother image, but takes a longer time. Such output is useful for final production.

Include Avatar

Select to include the avatar in the render. If selected, the avatar is displayed in the 3D window. If cleared, the avatar is not displayed in the 3D window.

Outline

Select to add a black outline to the render.

Note: Only available with normal render type.

Background

Select the background type.

When rendering a turntable using ray trace rendering, the background options now available are:

  • Environment HDRI - Uses the HDRI lighting selected for the 3D window.

  • Solid Color - Adds a solid colored background:

    • A colored box is displayed to the right of the setting. Click the colored box.

      A color picker is displayed.

    • Select the color you want for the background, and click OK. The background displays the selected color.

  • Transparent - Adds a transparent background.

2021.1 and older

  • Show Environment - Shows the environment currently displayed in 3D window.

  • Transparent Background - Adds a transparent background. Typically, this is the most suitable.

    Note: If you select Ray Trace Render, Transparent Background is automatically selected. If you change Transparent Background, the render type changes to Normal Render.

  • Solid Background - Adds a solid colored background:

    1. A colored box is displayed to the right of the setting. Click the colored box.

      A color picker is displayed.

    2. Select the color you want for the background, and click OK. The background displays the selected color.

File Size

Select a size:

  • Small - output is 250px x 250px

  • Large - output is 500px x 500px

  • Custom - output is determined by the values you enter in Turntable Size for width and height.

Note: Only available for animated GIF. If using HTML, see this tip.

Turntable Size

Select the size of the rendered turntable and the number of angled views.

Note: For animated GIF, you can only set size if using a custom file size, and you cannot set the number of angled views.

Size

  • Set the size by typing in the values you want for width (W) and height (H).

  • Toggle

    . If linked, a change to one value automatically updates a proportionate change to the other value.

  • Instead of entering values, you can drag the frame of the 3D window to adjust the size.

Number of Angled Views

  • Simple - a turntable of four angled views of the garment.

  • Detailed - a turntable of seven angled views of the garment.

  • Custom - a turntable configured by the number of Angles and Zooms you select.

    • Angles: Number of angled views.

    • Zooms: How close you want to zoom in to the garment. The higher the number, the closer in the zoom. As you adjust this value, the preview in the 3D window is updated.

Total Duration

Set the duration you want for one rotation of the timetable. The default is 7 seconds.

Note: Only available for custom file size output using animated GIF.

FPS

Set the frames per second (fps) you want for the output. The higher the fps, the higher the quality and the larger the file. The default is 18 fps.

Note: Only available for custom file size output using animated GIF.

Colorways

Select the colorways you want to include:

  • Click a colorway to select it, or

  • Click Select All to select all colorways.

You can have the images for all colorways included in one render.

To include all colorways in one render:

  1. Select Multipack. Further settings are displayed.

  2. Click

    and select:

    1. Global Positioning to adjust the relative position between the avatars.

    2. An individual colorway to adjust its position relative to the others.

  3. Adjust the X, Y, and Z settings as required. Note that a plus value for Z brings the image closer, and a minus value sends the image further into the background.

Note: If you have more than one colorway included in the render, you can change the order in which they display by dragging the colorway.

Tip

If your output is HTML, you can create a turntable larger than 650px.

To create such a turntable:

  1. In the Render window, in the Turntable Size section, click Custom.

  2. Set Zooms to the required value. Each percentage of Zooms adds 34.46px to the base size of 650px.

Examples

For example, a Zooms setting of:

  • 10% creates a size of 995px (650+(10 x 34.46))

  • 50% creates a size of 2373px (650+(50 x 34.46))

  • 100% creates a size of 4096px (650+(100 x 34.46))

Notes

  • The change in size is not reflected in the W and H settings on the user interface.

  • Any fraction of a pixel is rounded to a whole number.
