Fabric Testing Service: Overview

Browzwear's Fabric Testing Service is a professional service that delivers a complete library of the fabrics you want in U3M format for your use in VStitcher and Lotta.

What's Included

Physical Property Testing

Physical property testing is performed using the FAB (Fabric Analyzer), part of the Browzwear Open Platform ecosystem. The FAB measures a fabric's physical properties and records them to the database. You can use it to analyze any fabric, including fabrics for footwear and bags.

In addition to the standard measured data, raw captured data of full curves is available on request.

Texture Scanning & Creation

Texture scanning is performed using VIZOO with xTex, which captures visual material data and imports it directly into V-Stitcher and Lotta. This provides realistic, measured texture information and a fast, simple workflow for creating seamless textures.

Additional Services (Extra Fee)

Fur Simulation Effect

To simulate a fur-like effect on the surface of a fabric, this effect can only be correctly displayed when rendered using V-Ray.

Drape Validation

If needed, Browzwear Studio can add a comparison test of the drape between your digital fabric and the physical fabric, and record the test results.

Limitations

Fabric Structure Limitations

Fabrics including faux fur, sherpa, furry fleeces, engineered knits, laminates, puffy fabrics, and special-structure fabrics may have limitations in the digitization process.

Note: Please contact your CSM ahead of time if you are considering any of these fabric types for testing.

Random Texture Limitations

Randomized designs such as tie-dye, space dye, slub, and crinkle effects may have limitations in tiling. Many random designs produce inconsistent results.

Note: Please contact your CSM ahead of time if you plan on sending any fabrics with these designs.
