Naming Elements
By naming elements of shapes, the application makes it easier and quicker to identify them, which helps, for example, when using automated scripts.
In addition to automatically naming shapes, VStitcher also automatically names:
Artwork
Edges
Internal and floating lines
Trims
You can:
Rename elements and search for them. Names do not need to be unique.
View element names on the Resources tabs and in the 2D window.
For more information, expand the following:
On the 2D tab by default, each piece is displayed without its child elements.
On the 2D tab, to view the child elements of a piece, click for the piece whose child elements you want to see.
A thumbnail view of each child element is displayed with the element name.
On the 2D tab, click any element to display its details in the Context view.

By default, when the 2D tab is displayed, and you click on an element in the 2D window:
On the 2D tab, the selected element is highlighted, and
The 2D tab display scrolls so as to show the selected element.
To cancel the scrolling behavior:

On the 2D tab, click .
A menu is displayed.

Click Sync Scroll with Selection to clear this option.

You can view element names in the 2D window by toggling on and off the Info button.
You can also configure what information is displayed.
To configure what information is displayed:
On the Main menu, click View.

Click 2D Display, then Shape Options. The Shape Options menu is displayed.
Select the elements you want information to display for.
You can give your own name to an element.
To name an element:
In the 2D window, select the element.

In the Context view, click .
A text box is displayed for the element.
Type in the name you want.
Press Enter.
You can give multiple elements the same name at the same time, by selecting the elements together and then naming them.
You can also rename an element on the Resources tabs. On the 2D tab, double click the element ID number - the square bracketed number - in the Resources tabs.
The application applies the following default names:
