Adding a Pull Cord to a Zipper

A pull cord is a 3D object in FBX format.

Before adding the pull cord, use your external 3D application of choice to add a locator where the pull cord should connect to the zipper, naming the locator obj2obj. The zipper puller should have a matching locator with the same name.

To add a pull cord to a zipper:

  1. If the Materials tab is not already open, on the Resources tabs, click Materials.

  2. On the Materials tab, in the Trims section, in Edge Assignable, hover over the zipper image.

  3. Click Menu. A menu is displayed.

  4. Click Look Inside to view the zipper parts. The zipper parts are displayed in a pop-up pane.

  5. In the Pull Cord part, click Add image. A file explorer window is displayed.

  6. Navigate to the location of the pull cord object you want to use, and select it.

  7. Click Open. The Customize 3D Object dialog box is displayed.

  8. Edit the properties in the Customize 3D Object dialog box as required.

    Vertical

    Displays A/B where A is the current vertical facing displayed, and B is the number of available vertical facings.

    Click Right or Left to select the vertical facing. As you click, the pop-up pane displays the updated facing.

    Facing

    Displays the horizontal facing, being one of the following

    • 90°

    • 180°

    • 270°

    Click Right or Left to select the horizontal facing. As you click, the pop-up pane displays the updated facing.

    Mirror

    Whether the object is symmetrical. Enabled by default

    Units

    Units of measurement.

    Height

    Read-only. Height of the object.

  9. Click OK. The pull cord is added to the zipper.

    The 3D Object Editor still displays. You can use the editor to edit the geometry or the connectors of the 3D object. For more information, refer to and .
