Stitching the Sleeve Edges Together
This section shows how to stitch the sleeve edges together in the 3D window. For information about stitching in the 2D window, refer to Stitching in the 2D Window.
The following image shows the sleeves (in the 2D window) and the stitches required for the sleeve edges: each A edge is stitched together, and each B edge is stitched together.
To stitch the sleeve edges:
-
Go to the 3D window.
-
Click either sleeve, and use the gizmo to rotate the sleeves to expose the unstitched edges.
The following image shows the sleeves being rotated.
Alternatively, you can change your view of the avatar and garment using Look At mode. The following image shows the view being changed using Look At mode.
-
On the Main toolbar, click Stitch.
-
Go to the Context view.
-
Ensure Single stitch is selected.
-
On either sleeve, click one of the edges that is to be joined together, then the other.
VStitcher stitches the edges of both sleeves together (because the sleeves have symmetry) and the stitches are displayed.
The following image shows the sleeve edges being stitched.
-
On the Main toolbar, click Select.
-
Click either sleeve, and use the gizmo to rotate the sleeves so that the newly stitched edges are not visible, and the stitching between the sleeves and the body are not twisted.
The following image shows the effect of Select being clicked and then the sleeves being rotated and realigned.
-
Save the file: on the Main toolbar, click .
Once you have stitched the sleeve edges together, continue with Stitching the Collar to the Body.
