VStitcher 2026.2.1 Release Notes
Release Date: September 22nd, 2026
VStitcher brings displacement mapping directly into the real-time 3D viewer, giving you a more detailed and realistic view of materials as you design. This release also introduces virtual texturing for improved texture quality and performance, expands Auto Stitch with ruler support and improved discoverability, and adds enhancements across plugin licensing, Stylezone Connect translations, API capabilities, pattern information, and overall usability. Continued design system, quality, and stability improvements round out the release.
Displacement mapping is now supported in the Unreal Engine 3D viewer, in both Standard and Lite.
New setting in Preferences → Rendering, in the 3D Display Engine section: Enable Displacement in real-time 3D viewer. Off by default for all users and all files, including files that already contain displacement maps.
The setting applies to the open scene without restarting the viewer, persists across sessions, and is included in Preferences import and export.
The setting is independent of the production-render displacement option, and is unavailable when OpenGL (Deprecated) is the selected 3D Display Engine.
The setting can be read and written through the VStitcher API, with the same OpenGL restriction.
The warning “Displacement is not supported for Unreal production renders” has been removed, and the Displacement Map Channel editor title no longer reads “(Ray Trace Only)”.
Enabling displacement increases GPU load and may affect performance on complex garments.
Windows is the supported platform in this release; macOS is planned for a later phase.
Auto Stitch now imports the rulers, carrying across ruler Name, Type, 2D position and 3D position.
Imported rulers use the unit of measure set in VStitcher preferences, not the unit used in the template.
When the garment already has rulers, a prompt appears before Auto Stitch completes offering Merge with existing Rulers, Replace existing Rulers or Keep existing Rulers. Cancel aborts the entire Auto Stitch run.
Undo removes the rulers added from the template and unstitches the garment.
If a template pattern piece has no rulers, nothing is added for that piece.
Highlight Ruler is not included in this release.
Plugin license expiration and removal notifications
VStitcher now shows a Plugin Access Changed dialog when plugins fall outside the account's Cloud License entitlement, listing the affected plugins by name. The dialog appears once per event.
In Preferences → Plugins, plugins outside the license show a grey ✕ in the Active column and a red No License badge in the Status column and are sorted to the bottom of the list.
Rescan Plugins Folder has been renamed Refresh Plugins and now checks Cloud License entitlements as well as the local plugins folder.
Failed and Plugin Not Found statuses are retained across sessions until the plugin is removed with the minus button.
An unlicensed plugin cannot be re-added with the plus button while it remains outside the license.
Translations for Stylezone Connect
The Stylezone Connect sign-in and site-connection flow now follows the language set in VStitcher Preferences. It was previously English-only.
Translated surfaces include the License and Notifications tabs, Log in, Sign up and Logout, the Cloud License and Dongle License sections, and the hamburger menu.
Task statuses (Waiting, Processing, Job Done, Job Failed) and connection messages are translated.
The language switches without restarting Stylezone Connect. VStitcher still requires a restart for its own interface.
Job names and file names remain untranslated. Sign-in pages served by Stylezone are localized separately and are outside this change.
On a new profile where VStitcher has not yet been run, Connect opens in English.
Virtual Texturing
The Unreal Engine 3D viewer now uses Unreal Engine's virtual texturing system in place of the previous Browzwear texture management.
This applies across the 3D realtime viewport, the 3D Review workspace, the 3D Animation viewport, production render and the V-Ray preview window.
The change improves texture uniformity across a material and reduces VRAM consumption on the same hardware. Texture quality gains are most noticeable on large projects.
The OpenGL Legacy realtime viewer does not use virtual texturing.
Note: This is not something you need to enable or setup. Upon installing 2026.2.1, you will automatically be utilizing Virtual Texturing while working in Unreal/Unreal Lite.
Grainline ID in Shape Info
The Grainline ID is now shown on the pattern piece when View → Shape Info is selected, positioned so that it does not obscure the Shape Name or Shape ID.
Auto Stitch discoverability
Licensed users now see a new badge on the Auto Stitch toolbar icon, a Try Auto Stitch entry in the Single Stitch context view on unstitched garments, and a one-per-session prompt offering Auto Stitch after a manual stitch action.
The prompt offers Continue with Manual Stitch, Try It and Do not show again, and only appears once the Auto Stitch algorithm has completed initial training for the account.
Open Platform and API
Auto-Generate Specular can now be enabled, disabled and read through the VStitcher API, matching the behavior of the manual UI control.
Platform and quality
Continued UI alignment to the Browzwear design system across VStitcher.
Quality and stability fixes from the VStitcher quality backlog.
Improvements to the Auto DPC algorithm.
