Editing the Fabrics in a Group

You edit the fabrics in a group of fabrics the same way you edit a single fabric.

The Context view for materials is updated. In particular, for multilayered fabrics, note that Material Blending and Transparency now display below the Face and Back images.

In addition, you can do the following:

Set an All Over Print

This property has no effect on the appearance or simulation of the fabric. If selected, the fabric is rendered as an all over print in the tech pack.

To have the fabric rendered as an all over print in the tech pack:

If the Materials tab is not already open, on the Resources tabs, click Materials.
Click the fabric group.
Go to the Context view.
On the row of the fabric you want to enable an all over print, click . A menu is displayed.
Click Allover Print. The fabric is rendered as an all over print in the tech pack.

Use Physics

In a multilayered fabric, you select one fabric's physical properties to be used as the physical properties for the group.

Note

An orange circle displays in the fabric thumbnail inside the group to indicate which fabric's physical properties are being used for the group.

To select the physical properties for the group:

If the Materials tab is not already open, on the Resources tabs, click Materials.
Click the fabric group.
Go to the Context view.
On the row of the fabric whose physical properties you want to use, click . A menu is displayed.
Click Use Physics. The physical properties of the fabric are used for the group.

Remove a Fabric from a Group

To remove a fabric from a group:

If the Materials tab is not already open, on the Resources tabs, click Materials.
Click the fabric group you want to edit.
Go to the Context view.
On the row of the fabric you want to remove, click . A menu is displayed.
Click Remove from Group. The fabric is removed from the group.

You can also remove a fabric from a group using the Resources tabs.

To remove a fabric:

If the Materials tab is not already open, on the Resources tabs, click Materials.
Hover over the thumbnail of the group you want to edit, and click . A menu is displayed.
Click Look Inside. The fabrics in the group are displayed in a pop-up pane.
On the row for the fabric you want to remove, click . A menu is displayed.
Click Remove from Group. A confirmation message is displayed.
Click Yes. The fabric is removed from the group

Edit a Fabric Texture

To edit a fabric texture, you must edit it in external software.

To edit the texture of the Diffuse channel in external software:

If the Materials tab is not already open, on the Resources tabs, click Materials.
Click the fabric group you want to edit.
Go to the Context view.
On the row of the fabric you want to edit, click . A menu is displayed.
Click Edit Externally. The file is opened in the image editor specified in your preferences.
Edit the file as required.
Save the file.
Return to VStitcher to view the changes.

Rename a Fabric in a Group

To rename a fabric in a group:

If the Materials tab is not already open, on the Resources tabs, click Materials.
Click the fabric group you want to edit.
Go to the Context view.
On the row of the fabric you want to rename, click . A menu is displayed.
Click Rename. The Rename Material dialog box is displayed.
Type in the new name.
Select or clear Apply to all Colorways according to whether you want the new name to be applied to all colorways.
Click OK.

Hiding Part of a Group

In a multilayered material, the Hide icon is displayed at the left side of each layer, and above the Face and Back texture images.

To hide a layer, click for that layer.

Within a layer, to hide the Face or Back, click for that side.

When a layer or a side is hidden, is displayed.

Note

Hiding the Face or the Back of a material, automatically sets Transparency to 100%. If you change the Transparency from 100%, the material is no longer hidden and is displayed.
Hiding a layer does not affect the Transparency.
Hiding a layer disables the material properties of the layer in the Context view. To edit the material properties of a hidden layer, click for that layer.
