Main Toolbar Details

Version 2021.3.1 includes the first part of a gradual user interface refresh. Icons in the software may display with slight differences from the versions shown in the Help Center. In addition, you can now choose a light or dark user interface. For more information, refer to Appearance.

The Main toolbar features are described in the following table.

3D review workspace

The icon on the far left of the toolbar is the workspace selector. The icon automatically matches the workspace you are using. Click the icon to change workspace.

Click Click Home to display the different Workspaces menu.

The Workspaces include:

  • Animation Workspace- Select to display the Animation workspace. (2021.1 and newer.) Note: Different toolbar icons display when using this workspace.

    For more information, refer to Working with Animation.

  • Colorways Workspace- Select to display the Colorways workspace.

    For more information, refer to Colorways in VStitcher

  • Fold & Hang Workspace- Select to display the Fold & Hang workspace. (2020 September Edition and newer.) Note: Different toolbar icons display when using this workspace.

    For more information, refer to Fold & Hang Overview.

  • 3D Review Workspace- Select to display the 3D Review workspace. (2021.3.1 and newer.) Note: Different toolbar icons display when using this workspace.

    For more information, refer to 3D Review Workspace.

Open

  • Click Open file explorer to display a file explorer window. Navigate to the file you want to open, select it, and click Open.

  • Click Open recent files to display a list of recent files. Click a file to open it.

Save

Save the file.

Undo, redo, and history

Undo, history, and redo.

  • Click Undo to undo an action.

  • Click Redo to redo the last undo action.

  • Click History to view the action history. The action history is displayed.

    History

    To step back to a particular point in the history, click it. The file is updated according to the selection.

    Once you have gone back in the history, if you open it again, you are able to step forward to a point in the history.

    For example, as shown in the following image, having gone back to the previous action of Texture Effects, on opening the history, you can now go forward to any of the Change Color actions or Create Element action.

2020 September Edition and newer

Extended Support for Undo/Redo

Previously, Undo/Redo only supported actions related to 2D operations. Now Undo/Redo supports the following actions related to 3D operations:

  • 3D Styling

  • Fold & Hang

  • Editing avatar measurements

  • Editing avatar poses

Note:

  • Saving your edits of avatar measurements automatically clears the Undo history of those edits.

  • Saving your edits of an avatar pose automatically clears the Undo history of those edits.

  • Undo/Redo is not available in the following cases:

    • Assigning avatar anchor points

    • When editing an avatar’s measurements, changes done before enabling Lock

Integrated search icon

VStitcher 2022.1 and newer

Integrated Search

Click this icon to search articles and material inside the help center without exiting VStitcher.

You may also open the search engine from the Main menu.

Go to ​Main menu > Help > Integrated Search

Use the keyboard shortcut Control + I (for PC) and Command + I (for Mac).

Search Results

You can view one hundred search results at once. Click the See all results icon at the top right of the results window to view all the results in the help center.

Any result that you select redirects you to the article inside the help center.

Recent Views

When you open the search engine, your recent views are displayed.

Reecent views

To exit the integrated search feature, simply click anywhere else on the screen.

Render

Stylezone

Upload to Stylezone. For more information, refer to Uploading Styles With Lotta or VStitcher.

Select

Select a piece, line or point.

Configurable according to the options selected in the Horizontal Contextual Menu Details.

Texture

Texture tool to work with materials.

With this tool selected, hold the mouse down to drag the material within the pattern piece.

Configurable according to the options selected in the Horizontal Contextual Menu Details.

  • Enhanced Texture Tool Movement

    You can now use the texture tool to drag seam materials.

    To drag the material:

    1. In the 2D window (or 3D window) click the edge or line with the seam to select it.

    2. Hold down and move the mouse.

    Note that the seam movement is constrained to the seam line as shown in the following image.

Stitch

Stitch tool to sew pieces using single or multi-stitching. For more information, refer to Stitching Overview.

Configurable according to the options selected in the Horizontal Contextual Menu Details.

Assign

Assign tool to apply materials to the garment pieces or lines. For more information, refer to Introduction to Materials.

Configurable according to the options selected in the Horizontal Contextual Menu Details.

Insert

Insert tool to add shapes, points, darts, pleats, and so on.

Configurable according to the options selected in the Horizontal Contextual Menu Details.

pen

Pen tool. For drawing lines and shapes. For more information, refer to Pen Tool Overview.

Configurable according to the options selected on the Horizontal Contextual Menu Details.

Annotate

2020 May Edition and newer

Click this icon to view, add, or edit annotations. The Annotations pane is displayed.

Note: If there are unread annotations, the icon displays the number of such annotations.

Arrange

Arrange mode. Use this mode to specify where each piece goes on the avatar. You must arrange pieces before you use prepare mode. For more information, refer to How to Arrange Pieces.

Size

Size selector. Use this tool to view and manage the size range on a graded garment, and pair to an avatar set, or single avatar.

Snapshots

Snapshot selector. For more information, refer to Snapshots.

Colorways

Colorways selector. Create and view garment colorways. For more information, refer to Colorways Overview.

Prepare

Prepare mode. Use this mode to check the general position of pieces on the avatar, and the accuracy of the stitching. For more information, refer to Preparing the Garment on the Avatar.

Dress

Start 3D simulation. For more information, refer to Dressing the Avatar.

Finish

End 3D simulation.

Undress

Undress the avatar after 3D simulation.

3D styling

Click to display the 3D styling tools. For more information, refer to 3D Styling.
